Report on Alcohol and Health

The 10th Special Report to the U.S. Congress on Alcohol and Health, produced by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), is devoted entirely to health problems associated with alcohol abuse.

In spite of its title, Alcohol and Health, the 492 page report totally ignores the extensive research findings on the health benefits associated with drinking alohol in moderation. Although about 95% of those who drink do so responsibly, the report focuses entirely on alcohol abuse. Thus the report is deceptively titled and fails to provide a balanced view of alcohol and health.
