The national Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that alcohol-related traffic deaths dropped 2.1% between 2003 and 2004.
The federal agency also estimates that the alcohol-related traffic fatality rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled reached the lowest level ever recorded.
