The non-profit Museum of the American Cocktail has opened in New Orleans. The new tourist attraction contains an extensive collection of Prohibition-era literature and music, vintage cocktail shakers, glassware, drink archives, tools, gadgets, cocktail memorabilia, rare books, and photographs. The museum is located in the Pharmacy Museum, a 19th-century building at 514 Chartes Street in the French Quarter of the city.
