A Leeds University (UK) researcher has reported that going to the pub helps men eliminate stress and is very helpful to their psychological well-being. “Pub-time allows men to bond with friends and colleagues,” said author of the report, Dr. Colin Gill. “Men need break-out time as much as women and are mentally healthier for it.”
The survey of 900 men on their reasons for going to the pub found that conversation, relaxation, and friendly atmosphere were the most common reasons given. Only 10% listed alcohol as the major reason.
