Abstinence is Health Risk Factor

A leading physician and medical researcher says that adults should have a drink a day, unless contraindicated. Dr. R. Curtis Ellison bases his recommendation on the scientific medical evidence about the health benefits of the regular consumption of alcohol in the form of beer, wine, or distilled spirits.

“The bottom line is, never go more than 24 hours without a drink” explains Dr. Ellison, who is chief of preventive medicine and epidemiology at Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Ellison recommends that doctors prescribe a drink a day to their paients to promote better health and greater longevity.
