Intoxication Rates Increase but Not Alcohol-Related Problems among School Students in Norway

Over a period of ten years (1992-2002) intoxication rates increased among Norwegian youth age 16 to 19. However, school-based surveys of 10,202 students found that rates of aggressive behaviors and school misconduct remained constant and that theft and pilfering declined among that age group.

The surveys were conducted by researchers at the Norwegian Institute for Alcohol and Drug Research.
